Fundamentals of Fundraising: Donor Relationships 101 (a course for non-profit professionals and leaders)

Who in the world wants to support your organization? No doubt there are many prospective donors out there who share your values and passion and would like to partner with you! But where do you find these supporters? How do you communicate with them? What will strengthen their commitment to your group and its goals?

In this introductory course for lay leaders and nonprofit professionals, you develop a big picture perspective on fundraising and learn the importance of a strong base of individual donors for long-term stability and sustainability. Develop skills and comfort in speaking about your organization’s mission while matching your message to the values of your prospective donors. Discover secrets to developing and deepening a relationship with your supporters that will provide a meaningful legacy for them and more reliable sources of funding for you.

Instructor Michelle Wilkinson is a certified fundraising executive (CFRE) and earned a master’s degree in philanthropy and development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. With nearly 20 years in the field of nonprofit fundraising, she is currently the director of development for Antioch University Seattle and is a member of the leadership executive team for District 2 Toastmasters.
