Tom Freeman has been named Director of Programming at Seattle’s The Healing Center by the center’s board of directors. The new position is effective this summer. The Healing Center is a non-profit corporation offering comprehensive grief-support services for adults, children and families. People come to them with a variety of losses, including the death of a partner, parent, sibling, child or infant. Their community offers a unique, long-term, multi-faceted approach to grief support, combining structured therapy sessions with informal events and social networks.

The mission of The Healing Center is to provide a safe, supportive, confidential, and nurturing environment for people to move through their grief. Its sole purpose is to provide support to individuals, families and youth who are struggling with loss. Some of their services, including home visits and all children’s programs, are available for no fee, and others on a sliding fee scale. No one is turned away due to an inability to pay.
