We are looking for a part-time therapist (30 hours per week) for our International Counseling & Community Services Program to provide mental health counseling, case management and social services for families and adolescents who are from culturally diverse, low-income backgrounds.
The essential functions of the position are:
• Completes mental health intakes for new clients including diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Identifies appropriate resources to serve clients in the most effective and appropriate manner within the resources of the agency.
• Provides mental health counseling including interviewing clients, preparing case histories and mental health assessments.
• Provides case management services, including information and referral, and client advocacy.
• Provides services in clients’ homes, hospitals, clinics, agencies and other locations.
• Maintains client files ensuring records are current and submitted in timely manner.
• Helps develop supportive mental health programs for adolescents, including support groups.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree with at least five years of experience counseling adolescents and adults, preferably in a community mental health setting. They will have a good understanding of adolescent development issues, especially as they are applied cross-culturally. Also experience working cross-culturally, preferably with refugees and/or immigrants. Experience with assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning and with trauma-focused interventions. Licensed Mental Health Professional preferred. Must be a registered counselor. Experience with Medicaid and bilingual in Spanish, French, Kiswahili, or Burmese a plus.
This is a part-time position (30 hours per week). Salary depends on education and experience with excellent benefits. The position will work out of our Seattle and SeaTac offices as well as in client homes.
