Overview: School’s Out Washington (SOWA) is a statewide organization, (hosted by the YWCA of Seattle, King, Snohomish) serving the field of afterschool throughout Washington State. School’s Out Washington is dedicated to building community systems to support quality afterschool programs for Washington’s 5-18 year olds through training, advocacy and leadership.
Position Summary: School’s Out Washington is seeking a highly organized and energetic person to strengthen our team. The Refugee School Impact Grant Project Manager leads strategic planning, data analysis and evaluation development efforts for the Refugee School Impact Grant project. This is an opportunity to support funding, training, and resource systems that provide services to professionals working with refugee children and youth across the state of Washington and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop qualitative evaluation tool for current grantees;
• Survey current grantees to gather information for qualitative evaluation;
• Write qualitative evaluation report;
• Develop strategic planning process;
• Coordinate logistics for strategic planning activities;
• Conduct focus groups with stakeholders, including refugee youth, refugee parents, grantees, and community members;
• Write strategic plan;
• Oversee subcontract for evaluation consultation;
• Work with evaluation consultants to develop tools for measuring future grant outcomes;
• Research existing data sources on refugee students;
• Collect statewide data on refugee students;
• Analyze data gaps and develop recommendations for improving data collection;
• Create internal systems for collecting grant data;
• Write data report;
Other Responsibilities
• Serve as an ambassador for the organization at all times both formally and informally;
• Participate in related project meetings and weekly staff meetings;
• Represent SOWA at meetings, conferences and other community events providing support as needed;
• Support ongoing organizational cultural competency;
• Complete documentation and reporting as required by funding sources;
• Work in coordination with Publications, Technology and Systems Coordinator to maintain a comprehensive database;
• Work with consultants in completing organizational assessments and participating in the implementation of recommendations;

This position works under the general supervision of the Director of Workforce Education Programs. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the development/coordination of the Basic Food Stamp Employment and Training program (BFET). BFET is a federal program providing low-income adults with flexible financial aid and comprehensive support to help them with success in professional technical educational programs and ABE/ESL/GED. This position implements program policies; determines and processes paperwork related to participant eligibility; and is responsible for the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports that reflect various program activities. This position interacts on multiple levels with internal and external partners such as staff in financial aid, workforce education, co-located community based programs, DSHS, and WorkSource centers.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education & Experience:

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is assigned to the Minority Language Education Project #PE-3008 which is currently funded through 12/31/2012.
The mission of the Elections Division is to maximize citizen access to comprehensive, timely, and accurate election related information, to support the conduct of elections at the county level, and to establish uniform standards in the critical areas of election administration. It is the policy of the state of Washington to encourage every eligible person to register to vote, to participate fully in all elections, and to protect the integrity of the electoral process by providing equal access to the process. Federal law requires election materials and information for the public to be available in covered languages.
Within the Voter Education and Outreach Program, the Minority Language Education Coordinator is responsible for managing minority language issues for the Elections Division. The Minority Language Education Coordinator will serve as the Spanish-to-English and English-to-Spanish interpreter for the Elections Division. The coordinator will manage the division’s translation process for all languages, and perform translation of the division’s registration and voting materials/information including, but not limited to, the state Voters’ Pamphlet, MyVote, MyBallot, and all other online materials for the division (state WEI content). The coordinator will ensure effective display of translated materials on the division’s website. The coordinator will work with the counties to standardize minority language translations and voter education practices to the extent possible, and develop and implement strategies to comply with the Section 203 requirement following the 2010 Census, and subsequent minority language determinations following each release of the American Community Survey. The coordinator will assist OSOS communications staff with translating or securing translation services, for all voter education related communications issued/released by the agency.
The coordinator will develop and implement voter education programs to minority language communities with an emphasis on the state’s Hispanic communities. The coordinator will form partnerships in the ethnic/cultural communities throughout the state that will foster and promote voting and civic participation. The coordinator will assist the counties with networking and relationship building within the minority language communities, foster and promote voting and civic participation. The coordinator also will research, gather, and analyze demographics pertaining to voter registration and voting behaviors of the state’s Hispanic community.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ability to read, write and converse fluently in Spanish and English.
2. Four years of full-time (40 hours per week) experience working with the Spanish community, producing English to Spanish translations, acting as a Spanish interpreter, or related experience; A Bachelor’s degree involving major studies in language arts (Spanish), public relations, communications, or related field may be substituted for up to two years of experience.
3. One year of full-time (40 hours per week) experience using standard office software products such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to: compose, send and respond to electronic mail, create calendar appointments and send meeting requests; create and edit documents, tables and graphs; create complex spreadsheets; and import data from other sources
4. Experience conducting research in order to produce a summary report which includes results, lessons learned and suggestions
5. Ability to handle highly stressful or adverse situations, solve problems, make good decisions, work calmly and accurately, help to calm others and resolve conflicts
6. Required experience may be gained concurrently.

The Position
Responsibilities: The Executive Director reports to the President of the 17-member Board of Directors. Board members are elected for three year terms by the membership, while the officers are elected for one year terms. The Executive Director leads the Association toward its mission; is responsible for the effective conduct and management of Association affairs; recommends and participates in the Board’s development of Association goals, objectives and policies; organizes, coordinates, and directs staff and activities for the Association; and acts as its primary spokesperson.

• Communicating with universities about direct transfer agreements and working on all phases from initial contact to completion of the agreement.
• Leading quarterly student information sessions about the transfer process.
• Meeting with students wanting to transfer credits from another university and assisting them with the process.
• Communicating with agents and potential students about what is needed to transfer foreign credits.
• Connecting with international admissions staff of local universities to communicate application deadlines and requirements.
• Creating and maintaining up-to-date information in a campus accessible transfer center.
• Coordinating individual university visits to Edmonds Community College.
This is an exempt position reporting to the Director of International Student Services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
• Two years of experience advising students in a college student services office.
• Professional experience working with F-1 visa regulations in a college student services office.
• Ability to work effectively with culturally and ethnically diverse populations.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience with student records reporting into SEVIS (Student & Exchange Visitor Information System).
• Working knowledge of international student transfer process and requirements.
• Experience leading workshops and information sessions, particularly for international transfer students.
• Experience using a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, the Internet and email.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an office setting with occasional required functions off campus relating to new student orientation or program promotion. Excellent communication and problem solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to multi-task. The ability to use a personal computer is required.

COMPENSATION:
The salary will be based on the current administrative/exempt salary schedule, with placement based on education and related experience. The starting salary range is $42,600 to $46,111 annually, progressing to $50,910. The college provides an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance and a retirement plan.

We are looking for a Part Time Basic Skills Development Teacher here at Shoreline Community College. The person hired will be responsible for Education Action Plans, Teaching Math, Science, Reading, Social Studies, and Writing at a GED level (up to 12th grade level). Must have Bachelor’s Degree. Although this position is for up to 5hrs a day it has full time benefits, retirement. Salary is DOE but base is 25$/hr.
