Duties & Responsibilities
- The Operations Manager will serve as the Acting Director in the absence of the Director.
- Will have “on shift” duties.
- Coordinate, schedule and maintain a full facility staff. Monitor staff development and training to ensure staff is knowledgeable in all PHS and the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) policies and procedures. Also, ensure all staff receive annual training requirements.
- Complete payroll report twice monthly.
- Attend and lead bi-monthly staff meeting.
- Attend required meetings in the community and within the company as assigned.
- Review shift supervisor reports.
- Complete a Health and Safety report once a month.
- Act as the Safety Officer and HAZCOM Program Manager.
- Investigate and handle any safety/HAZCOM issues.
- Ensure facility staff/resident adherence to PHS and FBOP policy and procedure.
- Evaluate staff performance, recognize outstanding performance and give recommendations regarding discipline for poor performance.
_ Maintain investigation and accident reports.
- Assist line staff in the control office, which includes all essential duties of a Resident Monitor I.
- Be on-call 24 hours a day. Keep the Director informed of all activities within the program.
- Represent PHS to the community.

Education & Experience Required
- AA required, BS Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
- Work experience may be substituted for academic studies exchanging one year of work experience in related field for one year academic education.
- Two years supervisory or administrative experience.
- Experience in a residential setting preferred.
- Ability to motivate others and promote team awareness; manage complex tasks and projects; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Must have valid WA State driver’s license and pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing technical and administrative employment support to the residents to ensure that they attain gainful employment and/or vocational training.
- Coordinate and maintain the employment services and networking portion of the facility Resource program.

- Identify resident skills and activities and match to employers’ needs.
- Meet with residents to determine the need for supporting and/or the development of job retention and job maturity skills.
- Advocate for the resident’s upgrade of position and pay scale.
- Develop an employer data base.
- Establish and maintain relationships with employers and supervisors to provide education and assistance in working with residents. Promote the FBOP and PHS Mission, Goals and Objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Required
- BA required, Master’s Degree preferred in a Social or behavioral science program.
- Three years’ work experience in related field with one year networking experience in the community.
- Experience in a job development and/or job placement program.
- Ability to work with residents of various socioeconomic backgrounds; good communications skills; ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Current Washington State Driver’s License, reliable transportation and be insurable.
- Computer skills (Word and Excel proficiency.)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Pregnancy & Parenting Support program serves pregnant women and caregivers of children 0-3 years of age. This position provides prenatal, parenting and life skills education to program participants to increase knowledge and skills so that the health and social well-being of children 0-3 years old are impacted.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Recruit program participants.
a) Utilize appropriate and useful methods of recruiting clients into the program.
b) Coordinate outreach efforts with program team.

2. Provide prenatal, parenting and other life skills education to clients.
a) Develop/gather/prepare curriculum and lesson plan on child birth, child development, parenting, women and child health. Utilize existing materials, as appropriate.
b) Have program manager review curriculum and lesson plan.
c) Identify appropriate education venue(s).
d) Educate pregnant women using behavior-change techniques and models.
e) Adjust curriculum and lesson plan, as needed to fit the needs of the audience.
f) Demonstrate or model appropriate life skills.
g) Ensure that all activities are documented to comply with program and donor requirements including accurate completion of all records pertaining to life skills education.
h) Ensure that assigned program initiative(s) are implemented, monitored and evaluated, particularly changes in participants’ knowledge and behaviors.
i) Enter all client information into IRIS and maintains client files according to QI standards.
j) Conduct one-on-one education (home-based) as needed.
- With program manager, review which clients need one-on-one education and follow up at home.
- Develop a checklist for home-based education.

3. As directed by the supervisor, provide intake services, collecting necessary information and making appropriate referrals.
a) Assess parenting needs and issues and determine appropriate services for the client.
b) As needed, refer clients to appropriate services.

4. As directed, provide limited case management to: pregnant women, parenting women, their significant others and family members.
a) Conduct individual and/or family case management sessions where most appropriate and meaningful to clients whether in the CCS office or in their home.
b) Develop and implement clinical treatment goals addressing short-term crisis issues and on-going long-term goals.
c) Work in collaboration with other service providers to develop treatment plan for the client that meets the needs during pregnancy and into the child’s first two years of life.
d) Maintain up-to-date list of referral resources and coordinate immediate and long-term assistance to women in the program and their family.
e) Advocate for clients so they can achieve the goals stated in the treatment plan.
f) Provide timely and accurate completion of all records.
g) Monitor treatment and service plans and document definable outcomes.
h) Participate in Quality Assurance reviews as established within the program.

5. Maintain professional records appropriate for the provision of education and program monitoring.
a) Keep statistical records of contact with all individuals and requesting services from the program.
b) Maintain all CCS required paperwork on all clients served.

6. Develop and maintain working relationships with other agencies including DSHS, health providers, social service providers, parishes, schools, groups, etc to further enhance our services and referrals and to maintain visibility in the community. Employee accomplishes this responsibility by completing the following tasks:
a) Build relationships with other agencies and community organizations through referrals and networking.
b) Speak about the program in networking meetings or gatherings.

7. Participate in supervision, consultation, department meetings and in-service training.
a) Meet individually with supervisor for clinical and case management supervision on a regular basis.

8. Keep professional knowledge and skills current:
a) With supervisor, identify training needs.
b) Undergo training to enhance knowledge and skills needed to do the job better.

9. Promote the CCS Mission Statement in the community:
a) Attends networking meetings and community fairs as requested by the program manager.
b) Liaise with other social service agencies to advocate for the program.
c) Available to educate and advocate in the community (community fairs and events).

10. Treat clients in a culturally sensitive manner, assuring that Catholic Community Services’ commitment to diversity and cultural competency is maintained.

JOB CONDITIONS:
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance. Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP)’s Vision / Mission:
Domestic violence is a human rights issue. EDVP envisions a world in which every person lives in a safe environment, free from oppression and with the opportunity to thrive. OVERVIEW OF ORGANIZATION: EDVP was incorporated in 1982 by a group of dedicated volunteers in response to two local homicides. Volunteers began the organization with the crisis line and then added a support group. Since then, EDVP has grown to become one of Washington State’s largest domestic violence service providers with confidential emergency shelter, transitional shelter, children’s groups and education and training for the community. Since 1982, Eastside Domestic Violence Program has provided safety, support and access to education and training to more than 110,000 victims and their children. The agency’s current annual budget is approximately $2.9 million and we employee approximately 40 staff members. EDVP is managed by 18 Board volunteers.

OVERVIEW of the Position: Eastside Domestic Violence Program (EDVP) is a well respected, growing human service agency providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and their children in North and East King County. The Director of Annual Giving should be an experienced, creative and energetic professional who will be a team player and provide leadership as EDVP grows. The position is critical in creating and implementing strategies for increasing private funds through annual appeals, foundations, special events and media.

The Director of Annual Giving reports to the EDVP Executive Director. Roughly 35% of the annual budgeted revenue is the responsibility of the Development Team. The rest comes from a variety of government-funded contracts including United Way. The 2011 Development goal is to raise approximately $1,000,000. The board and staff are strongly committed to increasing revenues in order to provide innovative programs, ongoing service, staff compensation and to address strategic agency needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Annual Plan:
• Establish an annual plan for yearly solicitations.
• Research, solicit and write Foundations grants and private grant funding. Develop a plan to understand priorities related to programs needs.
• Develop, manage and implement annual plan messages via all agency communications.
• Develop newsletters, annual report, and annual solicitations.
• Manage agency communication tools such as; enews, twitter, facebook and the agency website.
• Supervise Media requests.
• Supervise 3rd party events.
• Supervise EDVP speaker’s bureau.
II. Fundraising:
• Supervise the annual auction with particular emphasis on procurement and audience development.
• Supervise the annual breakfast with particular emphasis on audience development.
III. Other Duties:
• Regularly report to and keep the Executive Director fully informed on the conditions and progress of assigned programs.
• Provide support to Executive Director and the Board of Directors in carrying out agency goals and mission.

OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM: Eastside Domestic Violence Program’s Community Advocacy Program provides advocacy-based counseling and education for victims, coordination with the criminal justice system and other services. Weekly support groups for women in the community are facilitated by EDVP’s domestic violence advocates. The Community Advocacy Program provides education for health care professionals, businesses, the criminal justice system, schools, religious communities, social service providers and civic groups.

OVERVIEW OF POSITION: the Bilingual CSO Advocate’s primary duties are to support, educate and advocate for victims of domestic violence in the King County Eastside Community Service Office with DSHS. This will include safety planning, referring, outreach, advocacy, intervention, and training. The CSO Advocate will also coordinate with the staff at DSHS/CSO staff as well as other service providers. This position spends 12 hours at the CSO and 28 hours with the Community Advocacy Program performing other forms of advocacy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Services Office (CSO) & Community Advocacy
• Provide advocacy-based counseling to victims of domestic violence in the King County Eastside CSO office.
• Provide safety plan tools, crisis interventions, and advocacy for victims of domestic violence over the phone and in person.
• Provide referrals to appropriate services based upon the participant’s needs; such as legal, medical, housing, counseling and childcare.
• Coordinate program participant’s needs with CSO staff.
• Assist survivors of abuse in accessing TANF family violence options including deferral from job search and good cause for child support.
• Maintain records and reports required by the CSO as well as EDVP.
• Provide trainings and outreach to CSO staff to raise awareness of DV and the impact of DV.
• Co-facilitate a weekly women’s support group and provide back up if necessary.
Community Outreach & Education
• Participate in DV awareness month activities.
• Develop on-going relationships with referral services, police, hospitals, CPS, Family Court, court personnel, Probation and Legal Advocates.
• Promote interaction with volunteers and participate in volunteer training.
• Participate in community coordination meetings.
Economic Justice Coordination
• Coordinate the financial resources available to program participants.
Meetings & Data Collection
• Participate in agency and group staff meetings, including direct service discussions.
• Conduct EDVP Outcome surveys.
• Remain knowledgeable of EDVP’s guidelines and procedures.
• Attend CSO staff meetings when necessary.
• Work closely and cooperatively in a team setting with CSO and EDVP staff as well as volunteers.
• Complete a minimum of 30 hours of Advocacy-based training and 20 hours of on-going training yearly.
• Complete necessary paperwork and forms in a timely manner.
• Participate in system’s data collection.

Cari Simson had her baby! It’s a girl! Rosie Simson Wiktorski came into the world at 9:21 am, July 16, 2011, everyone is doing great!! Cari is a WSD alum and was part of the very first Center for Creative Change cohort.
