In 2011, the Swinomish Tribe at La Conner will be hosting this historic cultural event for a week of celebration. Volunteers are greatly needed for this event to be held on July 25 - 31 to assist with meals, transportation, recycling, safety, organization, and medical to make this event possible.

Look for the VolunteerSpot Icon in each category and it will lead you to the calendar for that category. Essential Functions:

Primary
Deliver the Girl Scouting in the School Day program consistent with GSUSA and Girl Scouts of Western Washington policies and program at designated schools.

Assist Program Manager in developing, expanding, and evaluating age-appropriate curriculum-based programs for the GSSD program. Provide culturally competent program materials to families and girls that show the benefits of the Girl Scout program.

Build collaborations with school districts and other service providers as appropriate. Maintain positive ongoing relationships and proactive communication with teachers, administrators and other district personnel. Attend school and community meetings as appropriate.

Secondary
Ensure administrative components are timely and efficiently completed; including, but not limited to, girl registration forms, event permission slips, monthly reports, evaluations and outcome survey forms.

Develop and implement seasonal Girl Scout activities, such as Thinking Day, the Girl Scout Cookie Program, and Girl Scout camp.

Provide weekly progress reports detailing troop meetings, outcomes, behavioral issues and progress with school site relationships.

Performs other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to: inter-departmental “cross-program support and development,” substituting for other program coordinators, assisting summer day camp opportunities for outreach.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
· At least one year teaching or delivering educational program to youth grades K-8
· Experience working in classroom setting preferred
· Demonstrated ability to work with culturally and racially diverse groups and at risk populations
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work independently, take initiative and maintain confidentiality
· Knowledge of Girl Scout program or youth development progression preferred
· Skilled in Outlook, Word. Familiar with Excel and Access or similar database program
· Strong written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective interaction with individuals at all levels and backgrounds
· Availability to work varied hours including some nights and weekends as necessary
· Valid Washington State driver’s license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance or the ability to fulfill timely travel requirements across widespread regional geography
· Satisfactory results from criminal background search
· Ability to lift and transport materials weighing up to 30 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
· Willing to maintain membership in Girl Scouts.

Develop stakeholder management system and train administrative staff and outreach leads to maintain information.

Education & Experience Required
A bachelor’s degree in communications, technical writing, public policy or a related field required. Master’s degree a plus. Must be an innovative, detail-oriented self-starter with 3-5 years of experience in public policy, communications, grant writing, technical writing or similar field. Two years of experience with grant writing, proposal development and/or non-profit fundraising is desired. Superior writing and verbal communication skills with excellent analytical skills. Strong skills in gathering and analyzing complex information and communicating that information in a variety of forms to a variety of audiences. Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment and plan and organize workload to ensure deadlines are met. Proficient user of MS Office Suite and experience in database development, proficiency with SharePoint is desired.

Treehouse is seeking a full-time (40-hours per week) Educational Advocacy Regional Coordinator in Pierce and Kitsap Counties (some coverage of the Olympic Peninsula). This innovative, fast-paced direct service position will work to improve the educational outcomes for youth in foster care by providing effective educational planning and advocacy for youth, and training to youth, caregivers, and social workers.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts degree, or commensurate experience in a related field such as social work or education, will have experience with diverse populations and will have 2 or more years of professional experience with advocacy and with youth, preferably youth in foster care. Ability to travel within a thirty-mile radius of office site in Tacoma is required. This position spends approximately 1 day a week in the Bremerton office.

Salary $33,024 - $34,560 for an 11- month year, depending on experience. This position functions on an 11- month year with a four- week furlough during July.
