Essential Functions:
15% - Direct the assessment, design, and implementation of outdoor and camp programs and delivery systems, to meet the needs of girls from diverse ages, communities, and backgrounds. Ensure that programs are high quality, cost effective, and operated in a manner that meets council, Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., and American Camp Association health and safety standards.
15% - Assure that the organization’s outdoor education and camp programs are visible and engaged with funders, government and community organizations through:
· Promoting the development of community policies, initiatives, and funding opportunities which will advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
· Identifying and formulating strategies for developing partnerships between GSWW and community entities to support the goals of the Council, and if appropriate assist in the implementation of those partnerships.
· Representing and taking visible leadership roles in the community on behalf of the organization’s outdoor education and camp programs.
15% - Develop innovative strategies to market the benefits and outcomes of Girl Scouts outdoor programs and guide the aggressive implementation of sales and recruitment strategies to assure maximum participation levels in all camp programs and properties.
15% - Assure that staff provide excellent customer service, that there is accurate and timely notification of Council programs and camp reservations, processing of registrations, and collection and billing of payments due.
10% - Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers who operate and deliver volunteer organized summer resident Camps, weekend and after school outdoor education, outdoor skills and recreation programs, and on-site service projects.
5% - Oversee the marketing of camp properties for outside use to support community needs and generate outside use revenues.
5% - Manage/supervise assigned staff. Recruit, interview, hire, orient, provide training and development as appropriate, counsel, appraise performance, provide discipline as needed.
5% - Develop and manage the annual operating budgets to support department plans. Design competitive fee structures to offset program costs. Lead and implement effective budget and fiscal procedures for all camp and outdoor programs.
5% - Work with other departments to assure programs are well coordinated to maximize outside funding and community visibility.
5% - Member of program leadership team to promote cooperation, communication, and collaboration in accomplishing the council’s annual and strategic goals.
5% - Develop and coordinate documentation of property use statistics.
In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelors degree in environmental/outdoor education, recreation, hotel and restaurant administration, business, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· Five years progressively responsible experience at the management level of youth program development, retreat/conference center and/or recreational facility management.
· Two years experience as a camp director or camp administrator, including management and supervisory experience.
· Demonstrated success in working with volunteers or managing and leading teams.
· Demonstrated success in designing and implementing innovative youth programs and delivery systems for diverse populations.
· Demonstrated success in innovatively marketing outdoor facilities preferred.
· Knowledge of youth development preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative and maintain confidentiality in a fast paced and challenging work environment.
· Strong interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals of all levels and backgrounds.

THE POSTION
By joining Consejo’s team of dedicated staff and volunteers, the new Executive Director will have the opportunity to influence the well-being of thousands of people who are directly and indirectly affected by mental health issues, chemical dependency, HIV/AIDS, violent crimes, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
The Executive Director will be based at Consejo’s headquarters in Seattle, and will spend time at all of Consejo’s offices.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Leadership
· Serve as the primary spokesperson for the agency. Communicate Consejo’s mission to community leaders, supporters, staff, legislators, and other constituents.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and partner organizations, particularly within Latino and other underserved communities across Washington.
· Provide direction on public policy issues relevant to the agency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify, pursue and track grant funding (agencies, corporations and foundations).
• Create targeted campaigns and appeals aimed at cultivating, sustaining and growing major donors.
• Increase benefit from special events (annual luncheon, house parties, regional events), by providing leadership to staff, board and other volunteers, securing sponsorship, developing campaign themes, etc.
Budget/Planning: Write and implement an effective annual fund development plan aimed at increasing the organization’s capacity to meeting its mission, including strategies for restricted and unrestricted individual giving, corporate sponsorship, workplace giving, foundation giving, major gifts and capital funding.
• Work with the Board Fund Development Committee and Finance Manager to develop a fund development budget that meets short-term programmatic funding needs, and advances long-term capacity-building goals.
• Oversee the annual fund development budget, providing monthly outcome reports to the Board and staff.
Communication: Develop key messages and materials that tie strategic objectives, programmatic impact, and fund development, and that engage support at all levels of the organization (staff, board, donors, sponsors, volunteers, grantors, program partners).
• Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to create meaningful engagements for individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and volunteers.
• Create consistent and effective communications of WithinReach’s mission and impact for various constituencies including current and potential donors.
• Cultivate, motivate and steward donors and volunteers through personalized correspondence, letters of acknowledgement, and direct interaction.
• Oversee web-based promotion of organizational events, outcomes, campaigns, etc.

Eastside Domestic Violence Program’s vision is to end domestic violence by changing individual, institutional and societal beliefs, attitudes and behaviors that perpetuate it. To achieve this, we will work with the community to:
• PROVIDE services in East & North King County to people, primarily women and children, who have experienced physical, emotional or sexual abuse;
• PREVENT domestic violence through advocacy, education and support.
OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM: Eastside Domestic Violence Program’s My Friend’s Place is a confidential transitional housing program that serves women and their children who are in recovery and fled a domestic violence situation. The first program of its kind, My Friend’s Place recognizes that domestic violence can lead to and be compounded by substance abuse. The shelter opened in 1998, and in 2005 expanded its services to serve 10 families for nine to twelve months. Services for residents are provided in conjunction with Therapeutic Health Services (THS)), with program goals of safety, sobriety and self-sufficiency. Staff includes a Director of the Transitional Housing Programs, Housing Manager, Children’s Advocate, Legal Advocate, and two Housing Advocates.
OVERVIEW: The Children’s Advocate is responsible for providing the advocacy-based counseling and emotional support to the women and children in residence at My Friend’s Place. There are two children’s advocate for My Friend’s Place, who works together in planning and coordinating children’s activities. The Children’s Advocate also provides support to the Housing Advocates at My Friend’s Place.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide advocacy-based counseling to victims of domestic violence in emergency shelter, transitional housing, and/or community-based housing programs.
• Provide support to Children’s Services Program Coordinator with groups, entrance sessions, and outreach to service providers.
• Coordinate case management needs for residents.
• Crisis intervention and conflict resolution with residents.
• Maintain resident logs and records.
• Facilitate support groups and education groups as assigned by housing manager.
• Remain knowledgeable of shelter and agency guidelines, protocols, and procedures so independent decisions may be made in emergency as well as daily situations.
• Participate in staff training sessions.
• Attend shelter case reviews.
• Attend all staff meetings.
• Work closely and cooperatively in team setting with shelter and agency-wide staff and volunteers.
• Provide back-up support for children’s advocates.
• Provide back-up support for MFP housing advocates as needed.
• Provide transportation with agency vehicle for children and women on a weekly basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
I. Requirements
• B.A. in related field. Work experience may be substituted for education.
• One (1) year experience in crisis intervention and domestic violence advocacy preferred.
• One (1) year experience providing direct services to women and children in residential facility preferred.

This position will advise first-year and lower-division students on issues common to the first-year experience, including issues regarding choosing courses, AP and Running Start credits, part-time attendance, course failure, attrition, as well as ensuring that the student is on the right track for their major of interest. The first-year Core curriculum is based on a learning community model. First-year students are divided into cohorts that complete the year long Core program together. In addition, first-year students may take lower-division stand-alone courses. Beginning late spring/early
summer, the adviser will meet with admitted transfer students through individual appointments and first-year students in groups during Freshman New Student Orientation sessions. The Core curriculum also features an online early warning system through which faculty alert advisers to students who may be struggling. This position will assist in supporting these students through advising, referral, and follow-up communications with faculty.
Advise premajor students
Advise transfer and continuing undecided premajor students through appointments, drop-in meetings, phone calls, emails, and workshops.
Advise students on a wide range of activities, including: initial file review for transferable courses, academic planning, registration, interpretation of university requirements, and career exploration.
Serve as coordinator of academic advising.
Set work assignments and coordinate scheduling of academic advisers.
Develop standard operating procedures and policies and procedures for academic advising. This position will also develop and implement assessment measures to inform policies and procedures that ensure effective support and advising for lower-division students.

Requirements:
Master’s degree in counseling or related field and at least five years experience advising students, preferably within interdisciplinary programs in a higher education setting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; both orally and in writing.
• Experience scheduling and coordinating job duties for a group of people.
• Ability to organize material and keep excellent records.
• Proficiency in using email, the internet, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel and Access.
• Experience working with a diverse population of college students.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries.
• Ability to lead and influence others not under direct supervision.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

• Proficiency in using BlackBoard, Catalyst, and UW administrative systems.
• Knowledge of UW advising policies and procedures.
• Experience developing a coordinated advising model.
