Welcome to the Antioch University Seattle blog site.

My name is Eric Warn and I am the director of alumni relations, a position I've had for five years now. During that time I've had the opportunity to meet, speak with and email the approximately 6,500 alums scattered all over the world.
Several of you have requested the creation of a blog for a lively interaction and exchange among alumni and feedback from me on various issues, experiences, challenges and other matters concerning their personal journeys and Antioch University Seattle. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the blog's various components and participate by way of posting write-ups, experiences, struggle stories, stories of success, events and photographs.
So a little information about me. My background includes working at radio stations in Portland, Bellingham and Seattle, starting in high school. After receiving my degree in speech communications from Western Washington University in Bellingham, I worked in the communications field for a number of multi-national companies and higher education institutions in Idaho, California, Oregon and Washington state. I also taught marketing at several community colleges.
I also have an extensive community service background, having served as a Chamber of Commerce president and Lion's Club president. I currently serve on the board of directors for the South Lake Union Chamber of Commerce and have assumed several leadership roles with the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce. In addition, I am a mentor, auctioneer, master of ceremonies and a non-denominational ordained minister who officiates at wedding ceremonies.

Antioch University Seattle hired me in October of 2004 to be their first alumni director and to build an alumni organization from the ground up. I recognized immediately that technology was the key to communicating with alums like yourself. My emails, this blog and something else I'm working on (but can't unveil yet) are testimonies to that effort.
Life is certainly an eventful journey, with a lot of twists and bends we sometimes don't expect. I have an anonymous quote in my office and which I look at often when facing challenges that says "blessed are the flexible for they will never be bent out of shape." Contact me and tell me your story as I share my experiences with you.
